+01: A Human Being a Man

Dear friend: I like to start my notes to you as if we're already in the middle of a conversation. I pretend that we're the oldest and dearest friends, as opposed to what we actually are—for now, strangers on the net, united by a common question. ;)

I’ve been pondering this topic for a while and wanted to hear your thoughts.

Societal norms often dictate that being a man means being strong, stoic, and silent.

We're told not to show weakness or talk about our feelings.

But being human calls for a completely different set of skills—empathy, vulnerability, and emotional intelligence.

Now, let's take a step back and consider the bigger picture. We’re all just humans on this spinning ball of matter, orbiting a star we call the Sun, bound by an arbitrary concept of time. Let’s face it, our time in these temporary physical forms is limited.

So, while we're here chatting over this digital landscape, what's your take—are you a human first and a man second, or vice versa? Why should you even have to choose?

Are we also sacrificing our humanity for the sake of so-called manhood?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let's keep the conversation going at Proof of Support’s Telegram Community.

A.
